It’s almost Thanksgiving which means lots of free, yummy, homemade food that you don’t have to make yourself. The most glorious statement EVER for college students.

Other than the food, it also means some much needed time with family or friends. For me, I get to see both my mom’s side and dad’s side in one day, so double the food and double the fun! But seriously, I feel extremely thankful that I have the opportunity to go home and be surrounded by tons of love.

This leads me what I wanted to talk about in this post: thankfulness. I never take enough time to step back and look at what I’m blessed with. It is really easy for me to focus on what could be better in my life, how overwhelmed I am, my struggles, and what I don’t have instead of all the blessings in my life.

So, in hopes of being better at shifting my perspective, here are some things I’m thankful for this year:

  • The unfailing and constant love of Jesus Christ
  • Knowing my major
  • My new job on campus that I absolutely love
  • The most amazing roommate (shoutout to Ava I love you) who pushes me to always be better and shows me SO MUCH grace
  • An incredible community of friends at college and at home
  • The people in my life that push me towards Jesus
  • The new Taylor Swift album (SERIOUSLY – IT’S SO GOOD)
  • A mom and dad who will randomly drop off groceries at my apartment – they are too good to me
  • The opportunity to go to Israel
  • God REALLY pushing me to trust in and rely on Him

I know it’s a tad bit ~cliche~, but, it’s also important so I urge you to take a second this week to practice acknowledging what you have instead of what you don’t. Take time to thank God for what he is doing in your life. For those of you who like to write things down, there are some really awesome journals that can help make this goal of gratitude a habit. Check out this adorable 40-day prayer and gratitude journal or the Five Minute Journal.

I’ll be praying that we can get better at this together 🙂

In love,
